  1. Exclusive interview with Justin Bieber on his first Phish show!

    August 23, 2012 by TreyAntipasta

In an exclusive interview with The Phunion, Justin Bieber, aka Biebs (as our staff has started calling him) sat down to share his thoughts after his first Phish show and plans to go to more shows!

Trey Antipasta: So, what did you think of your first Phish show?

Biebs: (said like the line from “Rock and Roll”) “It was allllright”

TA: So you like “Rock and Roll” huh?

Biebs: Yeah man, Phish can write some tunes.

TA: It’s actually written by Lou Reed.

    Biebs: Oh cool.

TA: Anyways, what was it like meeting Phish?

Biebs: Well, it was cool, we hung for a few, talked shop, how tough it is to keep 19 year olds away from you. In my case, girls, in Phish’s case, dudes. Man there were a lot of dudes there. Glad I brought Selena with me or else there’d be no eye candy for me. But yeah,  it was cool, they asked me to sit in on “Lifeboy”?. The lyrics looked cool and had some deep meaning about God. I can dig that ya know?

TA: Why didn’t you play it with Phish?

Biebs: They had a sign on the stage that said ‘You must be 72 inches or taller to take the stage’

TA: Bummer. Well, what’s next for you and Phish?

Biebs: Well, I’m trying to score Oak Mountain tickets, then I’m flying into Denver for the show at Dick’s on Saturday night, with Selena of course, she’s into them too. I can’t go to their New Years Eve show because I’m playing New York City too. But maybe I’ll leave after my set and sit on Dan Kanter’s shoulders during the show.

TA: Dan recently talked to Relix Magazine about you. What do you think about that?

Biebs: Kanter’s cool. Dude introduced me to Phish, he can enjoy a little fame, ya know?

TA: Did you get offered anything in Long Beach at the show?

Biebs: A lot of folks asked me if I wanted shards, and I was like ‘um, no, that’s glass’. I smelled the pot but was content with my Vitamin Water.

TA: At the next couple shows, do you plan to sell veggie burritos out of your new Fisker?

Biebs: Nah, I plan to sell Mr. Miner’s book at a discount price. Shit is dope. Plus, I came up with some shirts I made, $15 each. Find me on lot at Oak Mountain and Dick’s with them!

  3. Page appears in San Francisco with teardrop tattoo

    August 16, 2012 by TreyAntipasta

With Phish continuing their tour at Bill Graham Memorial Auditorium from August 15th-17th, the band took to see the sights of San Francisco on their off day. Trey and his family went to Fisherman’s Wharf, Mike went scarf shopping in Union Square while Fishman took his clan to Golden Gate Park. Page on the other hand, known for his affinity to enjoy a delicious sandwich was not seen anywhere near Pal’s Takeaway but rather was seen brooding about Hunter’s Point, wearing a tattered leather jacket, torn jeans and an unkept beard. But what was most noticeable about Page was not his new shirt, but his new tattoo – a teardrop under his right eye.

Fans who spotted Page walked up to him to say hi were ignored, as Page stood looking out across the San Francisco Bay, deep in thought and unaware that fans were trying to talk to him. Some fans noticed the tattoo and wondered if it was a joke, a bit of dirt or something else, but as fans inched closer, it was clear that it was a teardrop tattoo, symbolic of having killed someone.

When asked by a fan about his tattoo, Page stared coldly into their eyes and said softly, yet sternly “Snitches get stitches”, turned his balding head and walked away.

At press time, McConnell is not a suspect in any unsolved cases. Yet.

  4. Michael Phelps planning to swim with the Phish?

    August 13, 2012 by TreyAntipasta

Update 8/14/12, 2:12pm: Phelps was prepared and ready to go when Ryan Lochte called up to say that his interest faded away at the last minute. Reports indicate that Lochte is now looking to catch a few Dave Matthews Band shows, and possibly an O.A.R. show or two.

Sources inside the Olympic Village tell The Phunion that swimming champion Michael Phelps has been eagerly anticipating going on Phish tour once he returns home to America. Despite a rumored trip to The Maldives with his bros, Phelps instead is looking to vacation with his model girlfriend Megan Rossee. With Megan living in Los Angeles, the hot rumor is that Phelps will fly home to the Baltimore area for a couple days, then head out west to see Rossee, checking out The Phish from Vermont in Long Beach, California, before driving up the coast to catch the first of three nights of Phish at Bill Graham Memorial Auditorium.

Friends are calling it a ‘celebration tour’, but instead of stopping at pools, he’ll be stopping at music venues scattered across California, the southeast, midwest and Colorado, all to see the legendary band Phish perform show 13 shows over the span of 19 days.

The initial plan for summer tour seems to involve bringing Ryan Lochte along, with Lochte planning and preparing alongside Phelps, listening to shows together, planning out their travel route and getting their tickets in order. Phelps and Lochte seem made for doing a tour together and can enjoy a few weeks of relaxation, fun and dancing at these Phish shows, if the rumor proves to be true.

  5. Phish Community Divided By Findings Of Mars Rover ‘Curiosity’

    August 7, 2012 by RobertPalmerPlore

Monday was a tough day for Phish fans as the community was divided in two by a controversial topic. It was just this past weekend when a bunch of space geeks landed the latest Mars Rover on the surface of the red planet. Yet it was the initial findings of the one ton vehicle that shocked Phish fans from Tokyo to Toledo.

After sending a grainy photo of the home planet of Sammy Hagar; Curiosity declared that the 08/21/11 version of Phish’s cover of the David Bowie classic Life on Mars? was indeed the version preferred by Martians. Within a matter of minutes the Twitter universe exploded with angry phans who disagreed with the findings. Mr. Miner was allegedly very vocal in this debate and sent the following tweet a few minutes ago:

So what do you think? Is the 08/21/11 version of Life On Mars? the best of all time? Let us know with the comments section down below.
